Study

The books sing to me in longing.
The games whine, covered in dust.
The music from my lappy distracts.
The invisible web of communication calls.
The movies beg to be rediscovered.
The bed taunts with tempting dreams.
The television invites hours of drone.
The family prods with conversation.
The friends offer nights of fun.
Yet here I sit.
The textbook before me laughs.

My personal temptation to put aside my homework. ~T

The Students' Snow Storm

The various movements of students
Each motion unique
The tapping of a foot
The clicking of a tongue
The biting on a pen
The putting on of some gloves
The rhythm of silent sounds
sweetly singing of sleepiness
eyes dart around
some are lazy, others are intriguing
The symphony sounds out in anxiety
Waiting for the silent white
To release them from their cage.

LOL. I loved this poem and writing it was fun too. I remember observing the classmates around me as we all waited to hopefully be released early from school because of the falling snow. :) I don't remember however if we did get released early or not. Goes to show it's the waiting that counts and not the prize. :) ~T

Let's Escape

Lion, lion
on the wall
aren't you
afraid to fall?
Do you hang
by your claws?
Don't play brave
just for me
Don't you crave
to be free?
Lion, lion
on the wall
don't be
afraid to fall
I will catch
sure and true
atop your back
I will climb
and we'll run away together
leaving this classroom behind.

This came to me today at work... I like it. :)

Treasure Hunting (my title to a poem not mine) by Ruth Haris

I look
I search
I hope to see
something that appeals to me
something unique or maybe not
buttons, milk caps, straws the lot
a blue-green shape just caught my eye
I don't think I can pass it by
whatever it is, it makes me glad
and so, I'll put it in my bag!

This poem was listed in my curriculum for next month at the daycare center I work at. I thought it was very cute and had to share it. :)
